Does anyone know for sure if Adobe will continue support for GoLive?
To be honest, while I've been told Dreamweaver writes better code, using the layout grid feature in Golive has been the fastest, easiest way to create web pages that I've ever encountered. It seems that in Dreamweaver you either build pages using css or tables and everyone says tables are bad?!?
If Dreamweaver is going to be the only game in town, could some please advise me on the way to properly build pages(in Dreamweaver) that is close to the GoLive procedures?
Much thanks in advance to anyone who can help or point me in the right direction.

There will ge a GoLive 9 (CS3) but not included in the suite but a standalone application. As much as that ahs been said.
If one or the other writes better or worse code is one of those urban legends going around. In either application you build webpages with prefereably css these days. Tables - which the old grid pre-CS2 was all about - is out except for when talking about tabular data. Learn css and html and you will be able to build pages in either applciation.

Thanks Nini,
I agree learning css would be the prudent thing to do. It's just that I loved how you could
place a layout grid on the page and then add images, rollovers and text to your hearts content with precise but totally editable ease. I just can't believe that adobe would toss away such a powerful piece of software.

You still can. As from CS2 there ar e2 kind sof grids. The default one is css based. The old table-based one is the alternative. The table-based one can be converted to a css-based grid and vice versa. In CS2.

Assuming Adobe kills one of its web design apps, what would make anyone think that they would also kill off the unique features instead of rolling them into the surviving app? The reason why GoLive and Dreamweaver have been different is because each company had unique patents for the way the programs operate. This is not an issue anymore.

Enjoy the tools you use today and look forward to them getting better in the future.

Jim,
Thanks for your positive outlook for the future of GoLive's features. I agree, why would you want to delete an excellent feature of an existing program.
